A photograph

I took this photograph in 2015 winter. The photograph place is ubicated in a Talca street, and it show a message I like, this says “el mundo es para quien arriesga”.
I remember how I thought in the photograph many time before I took it because the scene and how the people are place was in my imagination like a dream.
I like this photograph because it have an important message but the people walk around the write without look at it. It represent the cities rithm and how we can't take a minute to reflex about other things out our responsabilities, or this is what I wanted to represent when I took it.

I would like realice more photograph like it, trying to rescue other places of my city, or her people. I know how the photograph can save memories, and I think this photograph save my Talca's memories.

Your blogging experience

My blogging experience this semester was interesting because I never had written a blog, and I am not used to write in English. The exercise themes were very friendly and the form how we can write with our personal style was a comfortable form to get close to English. I am disillusioned with the blog classes when I had to go to other classes, but it is a problem of social sciences department.
I am happy with my written skills development, because now I can write more faster and I can chat with my father in English (he loves the English and he practice with me). Besides I discovered how written skills help us to find information to our jobs.
If I can talk about what I would like to include in the future, I would wait more consideration from other subjects because I can't development my skills if I have to go to an exam or test at the same time with I have to blogging, but I told It is a department problem.

I would like write about social science, because if I am studying it I need more tools in future perspective, for practice job or investigation.

A singer I like

I have to say I don’t have a favourite band, but I like too many singers and bands. One of those singers is Alex Anwandter, a Chilean who sang in Teleradio Donoso, but now he has a soloist carreer with two discs, “Rebeldes” and “Amiga”, the first released in 2011 and the second released in 2016, besides he is a sexual dissent activist, music producer and filmmaker. He released his first film in 2015, in Guadalajara film festival, it was named “Nunca vas a estar solo” and it is inspired in Daniel Zamudio case. Alex has a disc with the Chilean artist Gepe.
Alex Anwandter sings pop music, and I like his music because he has very emotive lyrics where I find any differents moods from happiness to breaks-up, besides I like when I listen Alex Anwandter music with my friends because he is a common taste, and he is very danceable.

My favourite Alex song is “Rebeldes”, because it has a contagious rhythm, with a lyric what talk about love, and it has a special music video. I can remember how impressed I was when I saw the video.

An Expert on my field

If i think in a sociologist who i admire, i just can think in Antonio Gramsci, although he is not a certified sociologist, he made so much contributions to the discipline.
Antonio Gramsci was an italian comunist and journalist. He had two sons and a wife. He enter to italian socialist party in 1913, found the newspapper L’Ordine Nuovo in 1919, the italian communist party in 1921 and arrested in 1926 for the italian fascists. He died in 1937 by an cerebral hemorrhagic.
About his contributions to sociology, I really highlight the concept of cultural hegemony and how he analice the civic society, the relation beetween it and the politic society (the Estate). His contributions are used to comprise from the education, communications, culture, to the political theory or the society practices.

I admire Antonio Gramsci because he was a militant and a he represent how the sociology can help to change the society for another where the equality are a few more near to be reality. Further I can use his theory in my university works, because the hegemonic appear every time when talks about the domination relations, a theme very recurrent.

Why did you choose your career/ study programme?

I chose sociology when I was in third grade of high school. When I remember it, I can't forget my father's reaction, because he was scared when he listened to it. He told me, if I study sociology, I would be hungry. His reaction was very predictable, because when I was a child I would be an industrial engineering. My mother's reaction was very similar, but she was less exaggerated than my father.

My sociology interest appeared when I knew about the career. I have a friend who studies sociology and he introduced me in this discipline. I didn't accept my preference for the career after a year of my first approach, but I needed to take the choice to select my "preuniversitario" subjects.
